Working in an office environment, Conlon documented her office through the large partly mirrored glass window, reflecting back the mundane day to day activities of the office whilst offering a glimpse of the city behind the glass.
Joanne Betty Conlon is an Irish artist living in Dublin. She works part-time in a corporate office as a graphic designer, photographer and in all areas of digital media. She studied fine art printmaking in Limerick College of Art and Design where she developed her interest and skill in photography and has integrated it into her work frequently.
In this series of photographs Office Reflections, she uses the device of the window both to reflect the interiority of the everyday in her office environment with that of the external reality. The photographs are taken using the iPhone, reflecting our changing relationship with the process of photography in the digital age. In 2012 her Office Reflection images got chosen to exhibit at Eigse and the PhotoIreland Festival.
She is also co owner with her husband of a web design company and a mother to two young children.
