WORKSHOP: PARTICIPATORY AND COLLABORATIVE PRACTICES IN PHOTOGRAPHY

This workshop provides an introduction to participatory and collaborative photography practices by professional artist and educator Liz Orton. The course will cover: ethics, safe practices, creative methodologies, consent procedures, partnerships, photography and social change. It provides conceptual and practical tools to help you plan, manage and publicise your project. It is suitable for anyone who is undertaking or planning a photography project based on participatory or collaborative methods. 

All participants will receive a learning pack. Liz Orton is an experienced workshop leader, facilitator, educator and working artist. She has been involved in numerous participatory projects, and also set up and has run PhotoVoice’s acclaimed participatory photography training course for the past eight years.

Venue: 

QUAD is the FORMAT HQ, and houses the FORMAT info point. It is located in the heart of Derby's Cathedral Quarter in the Market Place.
