Peter Spiers

Ten Seconds Start combines the performed action and the photographic timing. The work is a subversion of the documentary genre and documentary objectivity. As viewers witnessing the act the photographs become as immersive to us as the cinematic experience. The act of running depicted in the photographs recall multiple scenes from action movies raising questions and associations about the narratives that extend before and beyond the timeline of the actions in the photograph.
