Jung-A Yang
The culture of simulating the natural environment in our
cities has long been the norm. This demonstrates the pursuit
of being closer to nature. These visual artefacts often
mix real nature with human expression. In these works, Jung-A
photographs the places where imitation and reality co-exist.
This project stems from the questioning of how spaces in
contemporary cities are used and aims to interpret the impact
that these unique visual expressions can have on us. These
places can show multiple ideologies within the spaces of
contemporary society and present a variety of social, cultural
and political issues.
Jung-A holds MAs in Photography from Nottingham Trent
University and The Graduate School of Art and Design at
Sang Myung University, Korea. She has exhibited in solo
and group exhibitions in both the UK and Korea.
